WelcomeThe Oxford Secular Society represents those students who believe in the fundamental importance of a separation between Church and State. We believe this is the best way to protect the rights of all to freedom of religion, including no religion. As a student body we challenge privilege derived from religious belief. In the same way that no religious group deserves to be victimised, so too no religious group deserves preferential treatment. We discuss and debate the role of religion in today's society. No philosophy or ideology should be protected from criticism, and any that cannot defend itself against said criticism does not deserve the faith placed in it. To this end, we hold various events, from the profound, to the simply profane. We hope you will join us... |
