The Griffin Knights follow the Sidhe, father of the Gods, and Crowa, Goddess of battle. In consequence they are a very militant Order, strong on the battlefield and in command. As Crowans, they protect the weak, and so are the Defenders of Ithron. They are all male, human and of the nobility.

Griffin Knights are trained from the earliest age to fight and have the qualities of Sidhe and Crowa instilled into them by their instructors. There are reputed to be no better swordsmen, fighters or military units anywhere in the world. The Griffin Order is said to have known defeat only once, in the third Axirian invasion; their records say they were outnumbered three to one by Black Knights but fail to mention the thousands of ordinary Axirian Legionaries that were there also.

The Griffin Order is by far the oldest Knightly Order in the world. It had existed for thousands of years before the Templar Order was formed in the Holy Lands. The Order has never engaged in politics, simply maintaining their oath to "Defend the People, the Land and The King of Ithron" though they refuse to be drawn on if they consider their duties to be in that order.

As part of the true nobility of Ithron the Griffins live by their honour, the Black Order adopted many of their customs regarding Honour after the invasion and now have a similarly rigid code of honour. Griffins would always act in the honourable fashon regardless of the consequences thus denoting their highest stricture: Death Before Dishonour.
