Foulspawn Races
Goblins
Goblins are the smallest common variety of Foulspawn. They live in large tribes in secluded areas, often alongside their cousins, the Orcs, with whom they have close ties. Orcs will tend to rule over tribes, bullying the Goblins into menial roles.
Physically, Goblins are fairly weak and will normally use small weapons such as clubs and shortswords. They tend to prefer sneak attacks and ambushes rather than a head-on fight. They are also greedy, and will try to steal food whenever possible.
Goblins are not very good fighters and are not much of a problem to dispose of. Beware of Goblin Shamen, however, they can sometimes wield great power and by very troublesome.
Goblins are small and green, and generally talk with squeaky, high-pitched voices.
Orcs
Probably the most common Foulspawn in Ithron, Orcs are large, dull witted brutes. Although not generally intelligent, they can possess great cunning and are usually smart enough to understand common, although usually with bad structure.
They are closely related with Goblins, and an Orc tribe will often include several Goblin slaves who do all the menial work such as farming and foraging for materials and food. Orcs will often associate with Trolls and Ogres, respecting thier brute strength. They generally co-operate with Half-Orcs, although they dislike their weaknesses.
Although inherently violent, Orcs are not necessarily evil. For example, the Poison Leaf tribe near Humberton is relatively friendly and helps clear the area of other, more hostile tribes.
Orcs are fairly strong and tough. Even an un-armoured Orc will take several hits before going down. As with Goblins, Orcs also have Shamen, although they tend to be a lot rarer.
Hobgoblin
Hobgoblins are a variety of Orc which can be very dangerous. Physically, they are the same as Orcs except in colour. Orcs are green, Hobgoblins are bright orange. Fortunately, this makes them easy to identify.
However, Hobgoblins have one other difference; they are completely and utterly immune to magic. No spells can effect them, and an enchanted weapon will momentarily lose it's enchantment if it strikes one.
Because of this, it has been theorised that Hobgoblins were created by Crowa's dark brother. This would also explain their violent nature.
Hobgoblins tend to associate with other Foulspawn the same way as Orcs.
In combat, Hobgoblins will tend to attack without regard for tactics. They will occasionally use formations, but only if lead by someone (or something) smarter.
Half-Orc
Half-Orcs are a sub-breed of Orcs, presumably bred along time ago from another species. Generally, Half-Orcs are weaker but smarter than Orcs, and speak in stunted, lisping common.
They often associate with other Foulspawn such as Trolls and Ogres, hiring them as bodyguards or shock-troops. However, some tribes try to be like humans and are friendly, occasionally being accepted into society.
Half-Orcs are not very tough or strong, but they can be smart enough to make ambushes or fight in formations. Small groups of Half-Orcs should be no problem, but in large packs they can be deadly.
Half-Orcs are immune to normal venom, due to some strange quirk in their creation.
Physically, Half-Orcs vary widely in appearance. Some look almost exactly like Orcs, whilst others have a human appearance, with only large fangs and pig-like noses giving them away.
Adventuring Half Orcs
Rarely Half-Orcs join an Ithronian Guild and serve the King.

Ogres
Large and brutish, Ogres are similar to their smaller cousins, the Orcs, in both aggressiveness and intellect. Indeed, the two races seem to get along well, and Ogres can often be found leading small groups of Orcs into battle.
Ogres seem to enjoy fighting, and will often challenge adventurers to single combat. They can sometimes be found alone, charging 'tolls' for people to use certain routes through forests and woods.
Like Orcs, Ogres are not necessarily evil, they just have a radically different view on life compared with more civilised races. Unfortunately, this difference is more than enough to cause conflict, making a lot of Ogres angry and filled with hatred for non-foulspawn.
Ogres possess great endurance and strength. It takes a lot of skill to defeat an Ogre in a one-on-one confrontation. It is usually best to gang up on Ogres and take them down quickly. Due to their great fortitude, Ogres are immune to normal venom.
Half-Ogres
Half-ogres are not unheard of, Sir Ox Bullson a former Knight of the Templar Order, was an exceptional member of this rare sub-species. Speaking of his parentage Sir Ox was heard to say "Mother was ogre, Father was unfortunate."
Trolls
Trolls are another fairly common foulspawn. They are reasonably strong and tough, but are not very intelligent at all. They are often used as slave labour by Orcs and Ogres, lifting and moving heavy objects and toiling in mines.
They will also be used as expendable 'shock troops' by smart foulspawn commanders. Due to their regenerative abilities, injuries do not matter to Trolls. Even severed limbs and heads will grow back in a short amount of time. Contrary to popular belief, severed Troll parts do not grow into new Trolls, they just wither and die.
This doesn't make them any less dangerous however, as they can still procreate in the normal fashion, and Troll young mature into adults very quickly.
Trolls are large and ugly, and almost as tough as Ogres. However, their regeneration can prove a problem to inexperienced adventurers. Set them on fire or use an enchanted weapon to kill them permanently. If neither of these options is available, knock it out and run as far away as you can. Trolls are immune to normal Venom, but Swiftdeath works in the normal way
Dark Elves
Dark Elves are a sneaky, evil race. They only vaguely resemble true Elves in appearance, having similar facial and bone structure. However, Dark Elves have one major difference; their skin is a dark, almost jet-black tone.
Dark Elves are very intelligent when compared with other Foulspawn, and will sometimes be found lording over large tribes of such creatures. They have a certain amount of inherent magical power, which can confuse people and dissipate spells.
They are also sadistic, and will raid villages in order to capture victims to torture and sacrifice. They are also possessed with a certain ruthlessness and arrogance, often believing themselves to be a superior race.
Rumour persist of the Dark Elves being related to true Elves through an ancient race known as the 'Dark Souls', although this has not been confirmed.
On their own, Dark Elves do not pose much of a risk to an experienced adventurer. Just beware of their group tactics and don't get caught in an ambush and you should be fine.
