Information about the Guild
This guild, alongside the Guild of Guards, is responsible for the application of Law in Ithron. The Foresters Guild was originally formed after the Axirian Invasion (300 years ago), and drew its membership from the elite of the Scouts Guild. Whilst this is still true today (only high ranking Scouts can apply to the Foresters), the chain-of-command has somewhat altered in recent years, since Ithron became a Monarchy once again. The Guild is led by the Huntsmaster, who appoints huntsmen as his deputies. The Huntsmaster is of course, also a Guildscouncillor, and holds a social rank equivalent to a Duke, or a Primate.
The Foresters Guild is perennially under-strength, with few individuals having the moral character to not only be in the thick of any conflict, but also to uphold the law of Ithron whilst doing it.
Foresters are paid a salary, and accorded a relatively high social status, whilst still having leeway to undertake other paid work alongside the adventuring guilds of Ithron. The duties of the Foresters mainly involve dealing with upholding the law in rural districts, whilst the Guards deal with the urban areas, however both guilds have equal powers in each others' jurisdiction. Officers of the Law have power of arrest, with or without warrant. Both guilds wear the eagle head of Ithron as their uniform - the Foresters being a brown eagle on a green field, which is worn at all times when on duty.
