The School of Demonology

The study of Demonology is a wide one, encompassing the summoning, command and dismissal of Demons, study of Demonkind, learning about the ecology of the various demons within the plane of Sharda and how they act when on this plane. Demonologists often also study theology and many of them can hold their own in debates with the Churches.

While often reviled by the common man, and mistrusted by churches for their arts, the School of Demonology has time and again worked for the defence of this plane, Ithron and the Gods. Without their actions the Mourning Prince would not have been defeated, and the Pact would have been destroyed. Although in 1005 it was briefly closed down by King Stephen following the failure of the School to remove the Lord of Pestilance from the Plane.

The School of Demonology, is the senior of the established Schools. Its creation pre-dates the establishment of the Guild and the other organised Schools of Magic significantly, although like all Ithronian magics it was established by those who previously practiced Thaumaturgy (But not as a "spin off" from the School of Thaumaturgy, which did not exist at that time).

For as long as a School of Demonology has existed, there has been a Schoolmaster and a Keeper of the Seven Secrets.
